Icon Builder 1.3
Device: Mac OS
Category: Developer Tools
Price: $2.99, Version: 1.2.1 -> 1.3 (iTunes)
Description:
Do you create apps for iPad or iPhone?
Are you tired of having to make so many different images every time you make a new app or change the icon?
The images have to be exact sizes and with exact names and depending on the versions of iOS that your app supports, they may have to be listed in the app's Info.plist file. Sometimes in two different ways! Now with iOS 7, there are different image sizes required for some of the icons. And Xcode 5 handles icons in a completely different way using an Assets library.
But you don't want to have to work all that out for every app!
Why not let Icon Builder do all the boring stuff?
Create all the image files you need in just 2 steps:
1. Drag an image into the window.
2. Click the "Create icon files" button.
Icon Builder will create all the image files at the correct size and with the correct name. These will be saved to a folder for you to drag into your Xcode project. The folder will also contain a ReadMe file with all the data you need to copy & paste into your Info.plist file.
Is your app for iPad only or for iPhone only? Select a device and only the image sizes required for that device will be created.
Are you using Xcode 5? Check the "Create Assets (for iOS 7 & Xcode 5.x)" checkbox and an Assets library folder will be created containing icons suitable for iOS 4, 5, 6 and 7.
Note that Icon Builder does not create icns files for use in a Mac app. Check out our companion app for this - Icns Maker.
What's New
When creating icons for Xcode 5 assets, the 512x512 iTunesArtwork file is now included for use in AdHoc & Enterprise distributions.
For versions of Xcode earlier than 5, or when not using assets, the iTunesArtwork@2x.png is created for uploading to iTunes Connect.
