Description:
Tomato Timer is an excellent tool that helps you with your time management. When you start the application only a small icon sits at the top menu bar so nothing is distracting you from your work. The application uses a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down periods of work into 25-minute intervals called 'Pomodori' separated by short breaks. Every four 'Pomodori' take a longer break. There are five basic steps to implementing the technique: 1. decide on the task to be done and mark it active2. set the pomodoro (timer) to 25 minutes 3. work on the task until the timer rings 4. take a short break (5 minutes) 5. every four 'Pomodori' take a longer break (25 minutes) This application helps you with this time management technique. You'll be more efficient and better focused on your work. The method is based on the idea that frequent breaks can improve mental agility. Elapsed timer is announced either by your own spoken text or by a sound. When work period is complete the number of elapsed pomodoro periods of active task is automatically increased by one. This helps you to track your work.Check out also the iTomato Timer - http://bit.ly/11Hq1Z4 - iOS version of the tool.
